What a day! We went to pick up our steps (scooters) at Mommy's office and then we left and 30 seconds later, a HUGE tree just fell out of the ground, no one chopped it over, it just went BOOM!
It fell on a van waiting at the stop light. We ran over. And police came and the firemen came, it was a busy, busy day. I guess the roots were not good anymore. It just fell over!
If we had came out of the office 1 minute later, the tree would have fallen right on us. We would have been smooshed and dead. Nicks's Audi was ok, almost smooshed but ok and this other expensive car almost got smooshed too. It was a weird day. And I hope this is going to be on the news tonight.
Isn't life funny, Aidan? If you're in one place at a certain moment, something may happen, or you may just miss something happening, and how do you figure out why? I'm sure Nick was quite relieved. Did you end up seeing it on the news?
ReplyDeleteDid mommy tell you about all the trees around our house in Tahoe with the shallow root zone that we were always afraid would fall on our house? Finally your grandpa and his friends cut them down, even though they were on someone else's property. Guess that is a story I forgot to tell you!

Yikes! Glad the tree didn't fall and smoosh you guys too. Ama forgot to tell you about when the tree fell on the house she lives in now. Cole was a baby, about 2 yrs. old, and was playing in my old room (the room you sleep in when you visit Ama) and wham! a tree fell on the roof right above the door to go outside. Scary, scary, scary. It was stormy and raining and so water started leaking in through the roof too. The tree was so big it also tore down the fence in the back yard. Well, what a neat thing for you to see anyway and I am glad you guys are all safe.
